Lake Waccamaw, NC – Thomas Academy celebrated teachers through a variety of activities during Teacher Appreciation Week.
“Our teachers are incredibly dedicated to providing the best individualized educational experience for all of our students,” said Principal Dr. Cathy Gantz. “This week was just a small opportunity for us to express our appreciation for all that they do.”
Students were brought into the appreciation efforts on Monday when they were encouraged to write messages for each teacher. On Tuesday the teachers received small gifts. Wednesday included a dessert reception provided by the Boys and Girls Homes Resource Development team. Thursday was a luncheon for teachers with food options from Angelina’s. Friday ended with another small gift from the administration.
“I know that our teachers are the reason our students are able to find academic success,” said Gantz. “I have only been here since December, but I know that the teachers in our Thomas Academy classrooms are bringing the best out of the students because of their commitment to developing the whole student.”
